Diagnosis and interventional Adaptive Imaging

The unit Diagnosis and International Adaptive Imaging (IADI) is an Inserm unit (U1254), whose speciality is developping various techniques and methods to improve imaging of moving organs. Its research covers several research domains: the MR physics and the acquisition of MR images, the clinical methodology and validations.

This new lab has been labelled Inserm in 2009.

Sensors and signal treatment

Capteurs et traitement de signal A strong research force in the lab is the sensor development and real-time signal processing to detect patients movement. Because of the complicated environment inside the MR, it is important to make all the sensors completely compatible with MR. We have mainly developed the cardiac and respiration motion sensors for MR.

As part of the partnership with Schiller Medical (, we have developed the MR compatible sensor to measure ECG and MR fields using the micro-electronic chip technique.

We have also devised different methods to measure the respiration movement. The interference between the MR environment and these signals are are then canceled in real-time to obtain undisrupted information, in order to drive the image acquisition or the to adapt the image reconstruction with motion.

For the validation of MR compatibility of Medical devices we have created Healtis (
